With the Democratic Party using Minnesota Sen. Al Franken’s open end resignation as a springboard to call on President Donald Trump to step down, the president fired back on Twitter early Tuesday.
Saying Democrats have wasted millions of dollars investigating Russian collusion with no tangible results, Trump tweeted that the party is trying to move on to “false accusations” of sexual harassment.
Trump tweeted: “Despite thousands of hours wasted and many millions of dollars spent, the Democrats have been unable to show any collusion with Russia – so now they are moving on to the false accusations and fabricated stories of women who I don’t know and/or have never met. FAKE NEWS!”

Monday saw a number of women come forward to rehash old claims of inappropriate behavior against Trump, with former nemesis Megyn Kelly at the head of the parade, hosting these women on her NBC show.

Right on cue, 56 female Democrat lawmakers officially requested the House Oversight Committee open an investigation into the allegations against Trump, according to The Hill.
The White House vehemently denied the charges, with press secretary Sarah Sanders suggesting the American people have already passed judgement on the claims.
“The president has denied any of these allegations,” she told reporters at Monday’s press briefing. “And again, the American people knew this and voted for the president and we feel like we are ready to move forward.”
