Christmas is supposed to be a time of goodwill and merriment. For most children, Santa Claus perfectly personifies the Christmas spirit, with his selfless giving and warm, jovial personality.
But for some kids, Santa’s late-night uninvited entry into the home isn’t something to look forward to.
Sarah McCammon, a reporter for NPR, shared her son’s unsettling message to Saint Nick. Unlike most boys his age, McCammon’s six-year-old didn’t ask for a BB gun or a skateboard.
He just wanted Kris Kringle to leave him alone.

The boy started out by emphasizing that he was only getting in touch with the jolly fat man because he was forced to.
“Santa Im only doing this for the class” he wrote, before becoming strangely melancholic.
“I know your notty list is emty. And your good list is emty. and your life is emty.”
McCammon’s son also charged that, despite Santa’s supposed ability to see people when they’re awake and sleeping, he has no idea what the schoolboy is going through.
“You dont know the trouble Ive had in my life,” he wrote.

He then closed without revealing his identity.
“Love,
“Im not telling you my name.”
Maybe he still believes in Santa enough to want to avoid getting on the naughty list.
The boy gave the letter unique decoration. He drew Christmas wreaths on one side of his message–and skulls on the other.
McCammon was quick to clarify what her son meant by the “trouble” he’s had in his life–lest someone report her to the authorities.

The letter was a hit on Twitter, where it prompted people to share their own Santa-related thoughts and experiences.

I don’t think it’s funny at all, sorry. He’s 6! I’d be deeply disturbed by this if it was my kid. Letters to Santa are supposed to be full of innocence, sweetness & yes humour, but this is extra. Kid sounds like a budding grinch who might need antidepressants when he grows up!
