With no end in sight, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office revealed the cost to U.S. taxpayers thus far for the Russia collusion investigation.
The first four and a half months of the probe comes with a price tag of more than $6.7 million, according to Fox News.
Suffice it to say, for President Donald Trump’s supporters who see the investigation as little more than a witch hunt, the reaction was not too pleasant.

Fox News breaks down the expenditures:
The sum includes $3.2 million in direct investigation expenses covering things like pay, supplies and rent; $1.7 million was for salary and benefits.
Then there are the $3.5 in “indirect expenses,” covering expenses like agents working on raids or interviews and other government contractors. The office said those expenses would have been incurred “irrespective of the existence of the SCO.“
The expenses are from the date of Mueller’s appointment, May 17, through Sept. 30, the end of the federal government’s fiscal year. The special counsel has hired a small army of attorneys — 17 — to work the investigation.
And while the Trump Derangement Syndrome crowd is good to go with the expenses, with no inkling of collusion, reasonable-minded folks on social media had a different take.

$7,000,000 and you caught one person lying with maximum sentence of 6 months and $20,000 fine and you caught two guys who lobbied for foreign entities and didn't register. Money well spent. Another $7,000,000 and you might dig up some traffic violations or unpaid parking tickets https://t.co/BsjDasNQPo
