Exposed anti-Trump text messages turn out to be tip of the iceberg in Mueller team’s pattern of bias

The recent firing of an FBI agent who wrote anti-Trump text messages spotlights why Robert Mueller’s Trump-Russia investigation may be compromised beyond redemption.

The fact that Mueller fired top FBI agent Peter Strzok from his team in August — while news of his anti-Trump texts only surfaced last weekend — has led many to wonder why this tidbit was kept hidden until now.

Mueller’s legal team is also stacked with anti-Trump attorneys who donated to Democrats, so can the special counsel be impartial when investigating President Trump?

Many observers say no way.

And Peter Strzok’s texts are “perhaps the most significant evidence of anti-Trump bias uncovered so far on the Mueller team,” the Daily Caller noted.

News surfaced this weekend that Mueller’s office, the Justice Department, and the FBI had kept secret the fact that Strzok had exchanged anti-Trump, pro-Hillary text messages with Jill Page, an FBI attorney who also worked on Mueller’s team. Strzok and Page were having an affair at the time.

Strzok was selected in July 2016 to supervise the investigation into potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. But his anti-Trump bias undermines the integrity of the entire investigation, which is supposed to be impartial and nonpartisan. How can that be if the person who oversaw the project hates Trump?

Adding insult to injury, it turns out Peter Strzok also led the Hillary Clinton email investigation.

House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes slammed the FBI and DOJ for “hiding” information and “stonewalling” inquiries by lawmakers as well as questioning whether Strzok handled the discredited “Trump dossier.”

“This is part of a months-long pattern by the DOJ and FBI of stonewalling and obstructing this Committee’s oversight work, particularly oversight of their use of the Steele dossier,” Nunes said in a statement.

President Trump blasted the FBI probe as “tainted and “very dishonest.”

After a year of exhaustive investigations, Mueller’s team still has produced no evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia. So taxpayers have shelled out millions of dollars for a probe that has yielded no results.

Moreover, the integrity of Mueller’s investigation is severely compromised since his team is stacked with Democratic donors and former Obama lawyers. The special counsel is supposed to be objective and nonpartisan, but it appears Robert Mueller’s team is anything but.

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway has called the probe a witch hunt, saying President Trump will not get a fair shake because of the massive conflicts of interest.

Mueller’s longtime friendship with fired FBI director James Comey also raises serious ethical questions, since Mueller is also investigating Trump’s firing of Comey.

“James Comey’s relationship with the special counsel Robert Mueller is a massive conflict of interest,” Fox News host Sean Hannity said. “That’s why it is time to shut down this political witch hunt that is really aimed at stopping the president, delegitimizing him, and hopefully in the minds of some, making sure he gets thrown out of office. It’s that serious.”

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich agreed, tweeting: “Republicans are delusional if they think the special counsel is going to be fair. Look who he is hiring [Trump-hating Democrats].”
