Amid sexual assault and harassment allegations sweeping entertainment and politics, liberals are finding it increasingly difficult to justify their defense of Democrats with questionable pasts. Some have given up even attempting to do so.
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), who holds the seat once occupied by Hillary Clinton, is the most high-profile Democrat lawmaker to break with her party’s stance by condemning former President Bill Clinton’s sexual misconduct while President.

Gillibrand said in a New York Times interview that she believes Clinton should have resigned from the presidency over his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
The Times directly asked the New York Senator whether she thought the Lewinsky scandal was grounds for Clinton stepping down.
“Yes, I think that is the appropriate response,” she said.
But Gillibrand qualified her criticism of Clinton by suggesting that we live in a “different” time that calls for different kinds of responses to cases like Clinton’s. And then she made it about President Trump, of course:
“Things have changed today, and I think under those circumstances there should be a very different reaction. And I think in light of this conversation, we should have a very different conversation about President Trump, and a very different conversation about allegations against him.”
Gillibrand also took aim at fellow Democrat Senator Al Franken (D-MN), who is currently facing groping allegations replete with photographic evidence.

The allegations against Sen. Franken are deeply concerning. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and should not be tolerated anywhere in our society. There is nothing funny about it and there is no excuse for it. The Ethics Committee deserves answers from him.

The New York Senator has been an outspoken advocate of cracking down on sexual assault in the military. But, Gillibrand’s take on Clinton brought her scorn from her own party.

So WTH, why dwell on the past? Can’t change a thing. Clinton was impeached & paid for his indiscretions in many ways. Why are we not talking about the admitted sexual assaulter currently residing in our White House? Now THAT we can do something about!

Conservatives, meanwhile, pointed out the hypocrisy of enjoying Clinton’s endorsement and money before, and condemning now that he’s no longer politically relevant.

It becomes more clear by the moment that the left is shedding itself of the Clintons and it’s the ONLY reason why they are finally standing up. This isn’t about what’s right, it’s about them finally realizing how useless that the Clintons are.

And she took this photo WITH Bill Clinton to prove how disgusted she was, right? pic.twitter.com/aE54of6gr1

All the rats are trying to save themselves. Clinton’s are going down and everyone know it’s. Time to distance themselves before they get burned. Get the popcorn out, it will be a bumpy ride for Clinton supporters. You will see lots of contradictions.
