Being a supporter of Donald Trump and his agenda doesn’t mean one has to support everyone the president endorses for public office.
Even if you’re a member of his own cabinet.
On Friday afternoon, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson officially broke ranks with his boss over who should be the next senator from the State of Alabama, sending out a statement endorsing Roy Moore over Trump’s pick, Luther Strange.
Carson’s statement called Judge Moore “a fine man of proven character and integrity … who reflects the Judeo-Christian values that were so important to the establishment of our country.”

Moore tweeted his appreciation for Carson’s support.

Carson joins other Trump supporters including Sarah Palin, who on Thursday told rally attendees “We’re sending Trump someone who has our back, not Mitch McConnell’s,” and the president’s own former deputy assistant, Sebastian Gorka, in rejecting Strange.
Whether simply duped by Senate Majority Leader McConnell into believing Strange will be the better senator or believing it of his own volition, President Trump is doubling down.

But plenty of conservatives are in agreement with Carson, and it doesn’t mean they don’t support Trump!
