In the aftermath of the violence in Charlottesville, where two sides came together to do battle in the streets, the media has taken on the responsibility of laying cover for the radical left-wing combatants.
…not that it distracts from their primary goal of destroying President Donald Trump.
With CNN leading the charge, there’s a concerted effort to turn a blind eye to the army of antagonists from Antifa and other left-wing radicals on hand in Charlottesville who had no intentions of allowing the day to pass peacefully.
A group Trump called the alt-left at a news conference Tuesday, in response to the tag alt-right applied to the white supremacists and neo Nazis.
“What about the alt-left that came charging at, as you say, the alt-right, do they have any semblance of guilt… What about the fact they came charging with clubs in hands, swinging clubs? Do they have any problem? I think they do,” the president said.
But CNN says the “alt-left” doesn’t exist. They begrudgingly acknowledge the alleged “anti-fascist” fascists at Antifa, who regularly shut down free speech in America, but took pains to note that they “do not conform with the Democratic Party platform.”

And that’s where Erielle Davidson, a researcher at The Hoover Institute, came into play.
In a series of tweets, she single-handedly trounced CNN’s dubious claim.

Pointing to the recent shooting at a Republican congressional baseball practice, the incident in Chicago where a disabled teen was kidnapped and tortured by four thugs, Davidson differentiated between the alt-left and “ordinary Leftists.”
She included the five Dallas police officers who were executed, the Antifa attack at Berkeley and the Vermont college professor who was sent to the hospital for inviting a conservative speaker.

Davidson summed up her very successful counter by tweeting: “If you don’t want a distinction made between these scumbags and the Left, then job well done.”
