Vice president Mike Pence called the New York Times “absurd” for claiming he’s preparing a shadow presidential campaign for 2020.
Pence issued a statement on Twitter rubbishing the NY Times report as another lame attempt by mainstream media to sow division within the Trump administration.
“Whatever fake news may come our way, my entire team will continue to focus all our efforts to advance the President’s agenda and see him re-elected in 2020,” Pence tweeted Sunday. “Any suggestion otherwise is both laughable and absurd.”

Pence’s press secretary, Marc Lotter, doubled down on the VP’s statement Monday morning. “[It’s] speculation, conjecture, half-truths masquerading as news on the front page of the Never-Trump New York Times,” Lotter told “Fox & Friends.”
The scuttlebutt erupted after the New York Times claimed Mike Pence is preparing to run for president in 2020 in a scenario that excludes President Donald Trump. It’s more wishful thinking on the part of liberals that Trump will be removed from office before 2020.

Anonymous sources also claimed Pence has already set up a fundraising committee. The Times piece (no links for losers) also names Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton and Ohio governor John Kasich as other potential GOP presidential candidates.
Not surprisingly, MSNBC’s anti-Trump stooge Chuck Todd snarked that Pence appeared to be overreacting to the report.
Sorta stunned that an obvious point from the NYT piece about a sitting VP's own ambitions appears to be causing Team Pence such heartburn

Meanwhile, many on social media warned that if the left unlawfully removes President Trump through its Deep State machinations, Russia hoaxes, illegal press leaks, media intimidation, and lame protests, they better be prepared for what they unleash.
