The latest issue of Rolling Stone features Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the cover and a question that has even liberals shaking their heads.
“Why can’t he be our president?” the magazine asked.

Maybe that answer was not so obvious to Rolling Stone, which also asked in a tweet if Trudeau is “the free world’s best hope.”

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes thought the cover was a bit “unseemly.”

Other liberals even agreed.

The issue’s profile of Trudeau took jabs at the president by comparing the young Canadian leader to Trump.
“At home, there is a glamorous wife and three photogenic children, still not old enough to warm his seat at next week’s [Group of 20] summit or be involved in an espionage scandal,” the story said.

“Justin Trudeau is trying to Make Canada Great Again. He is using, let us say, different methods,” it continued.
Some thought of a foolproof way for Rolling Stone to get its wish.
He *could* be your president, @RollingStone. Move to Canada. https://t.co/myvdR6a3Ig

Trudeau is cool and all but still has plenty of problematic policies. I think this weird lionizing of him is going to backfire bigly.

@JoyAnnReid @RollingStone So silly. Just another brand the media has created.

That’s where he belongs – on a magazine cover, but he does not have the intellect or courage to be leading our country (and I’m a Liberal).

RS published a cover story about one of the Boston Marathon bombers that read like a Tiger Beat puff piece. This is nothing.
