A New York author believes Chelsea Clinton swiped his work when she wrote her feminist children’s book “She Persisted.”
The author, Christopher Janes Kimberley, 56, claims, in lawsuit, that he sent along the idea for his work “A Heart is the Part That Makes Boys And Girls Smart” to Jennifer Loja, the president of Penguin Young Readers in 2013, the New York Post reported.
But rather than publish the book, he claims Loja gave the information to Clinton who used it for her book.
“I did months of painstaking research on my book. Her version looks like a ninth-grade homework assignment,” he told the Post. “I am in disbelief.”
He filed the lawsuit, which calls Clinton’s book an “unauthorized reproduction of [Kimberly’s] work,” against Penguin Random House and Clinton on Thursday and is seeking up to $150,000.
Kimberly claims that Clinton’s book contains three identical quotes from famous women in history, Harriet Tubman. Nellie Bly and Helen Keller, and comparable images.
“The appearance of impropriety is striking,” Kimberly said in the suit.

Kimberly filed a cease and desist in April to prevent Clinton’s best-seller from being published.
