Living dangerously with violent protesters

We live in a dangerous world, made more so by violent leftist protesters and by leftist policies that stir up society’s riff-raff looking for blood, cars to firebomb and store windows to break.

The G20 demonstrators are the current splashers in the protester pool. The media has lost count of how many issues these “grievance mongers” in Hamburg, Germany are angry about. Apparently, not much that’s done by the successful established nations pleases them. Some of these Hamburg self-styled “victims” are violent but most are not.

Europe has overpromised their people and is overpaying their elderly, and the general populace has gotten used to the leftist giveaway gravy train. Europe’s protester class, at least the anti-capitalists booing the G20 summit, are angry that America is in no mood to fund the U.N. social programs and global warming agenda demanded by Europe’s left, like Barack Obama did. They don’t want to believe that America can’t support everyone who wants their own wishes paid for, by spending American dollars. They don’t want to believe that pre-Obama America is “back”, and reversing Obama’s nonsense.

Let’s break down this protesting stuff. A recalcitrant fringe person or even a normal person who wants to wave a sign or scream words on a street corner is a legitimate protester. Someone who throws rocks or bottles, sets fires, or breaks windows or human bones, is a criminal. When you block public roads, you’re breaking the law. Few human creatures exist who are viler than the violent protestor, slotted on the depravity scale somewhere near the practicing terrorist. No redeeming qualities in such savages, even if they are devoted to some cause or religion. The lesson for them is: you put yourself in harm’s way, don’t cry victim about your cracked skull. And black-masked protesters who turn to looting should be shot on sight, the most grimly effective deterrent to future looting.

The shocking destruction in Hamburg is painful to see, with its ransacked shops, torched premises, empty shelves, graffiti, broken glass. Over 200 police officers injured and 100+ protesters arrested. One resident exclaimed, “It is like a war zone, absolutely crazy. I cannot wrap my head around the level of violence.”

When will Europe’s people tell their leaders to do something to stop the long-standing violence, the aggravated assaults and riots in their cities and suburbs? Surely Europe remembers November 2006, when Muslim immigrant rioters set fire to over 29,000 cars in 300+ French cities. The domestic crops planted by European socialists and communists have arrived at harvest. The crops are bearing fiery fruit, in the form of riots, car bombings, and burning shops. European leaders, having buried their heads in the multicultural sand for so long, must now admit their mistakes at admitting so many immigrants. Rather than feel gratitude, the interlopers feel no attachment to their adopted homes because the European welfare system and the proponents of multiculturalism and diversity have not insisted on integrating their immigrants into local society. This is what happens when liberal politics fail to impose requirements on immigrants to embrace the adopted nation’s culture. The left has never quite understood that the “diversity” word stem comes from the Latin “divide”.

At the core of the European response to rioting terrorists has been to call for public spending on the radical immigrant masses, and “multicultural understanding”. In the grip of the policies of the left, most European politicians refuse to admit that their political system, and its failure to require rights and responsibilities to go together, largely created the urban battlefield they inhabit.

Global conservatives have predicted that something like this would come to pass in time. Why? Because the European Union statist welfare system, with heavy central planning, confiscatory taxes, and a smothering regulatory scheme, was not built to provide relief to the underclass. It was built to provide money, power and control to the state, the bureaucrats, and the ruling class. The violence will continue, because most European countries have distanced themselves from economic and immigrant reality. The European Union flagship, riding low in the water from the immigrant ballast sitting heavy on its keel, is sailing toward reef-strewn waters.
