At least one Democratic lawmaker has the courage to state the obvious, that former President Barack Obama’s signature health care law has “failed.”
Rep. Tim Walz, D-Minn., acknowledged that he was going against the wishes of the Democratic National Committee in telling a town hall crowd the Affordable Care Act is not the success the party’s message claims.
“The DNC wanted the message to be the ACA is working fine and don’t talk about the warts,” Walz said. “I said I can’t do that because it’s failing my constituents in a lot of ways.”
The congressman is running for governor in Minnesota, and while he now condemns Obamacare, he voted in favor of it way back when, according to The Washington Free Beacon.
And even though he characterizes it as a failure, don’t expect Walz to rally around the Republican Party’s efforts to “repeal” Obamacare… he posted this Monday on Twitter:
Today’s #CBOscore of Senate Republicans’ #TrumpCare confirms that the GOP #HealthcareBill is fundamentally heartless & must be abandoned. https://t.co/5qNcip2M1h
