A beautiful gold Cartier watch that, at one time, graced the wrist of first lady Jackie Kennedy has found its way to a new owner.
One who couldn’t be further from the class, grace and elegance of the wife of former President John F. Kennedy.
The watch was reportedly purchased by reality star, and homemade porn queen, Kim Kardashian at Christie’s auction in New York City on Wednesday, TMZ reported.
Her anonymous winning bid of $379,500 was reportedly more than three times the expected price of $120,000.
It is engraved with the date February 23, 1963 as a gift from Polish Prince Stanislaw “Stas” Radziwill, Jackie’s brother-in-law, according to TMZ.
According to sources, Kardashian plans to wear the watch and not merely use it as a display piece.
Jackie Kennedy Onassis was a fashion icon and the epitome of understated, dignified sophistication in the 1960s and beyond.
Kardashian, on the other hand, is seen by many as the poster child of low-class decadence and gaudy braggadocio.
The two couldn’t be further apart.
