CNN hack Jim Acosta can’t stop whining that the White House changed its presser rules to drastically reduce its on-camera press briefings.
Acosta — who was famously scolded by President Trump (“you are fake news!”) — unleashed a childish Twitter tantrum grousing about the off-camera gaggles.
Deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded with an epic smack-down, saying she’s surprised that the network that relies so heavily on anonymous innuendo is suddenly crowing about off-camera pressers.
“If reporting [is] only legit if done on camera, then is media now going to hold their anonymous sources to same standard?” Sanders asked.

Acosta responded with a lame comeback, claiming he only wants the on-camera daily briefings for the sake of “transparency.” Um, okay.

The White House recently changed its rules after press secretary Sean Spicer and others pointed out that the daily on-camera briefings encouraged reporters to showboat in a bid to become viral YouTube sensations.
“They want to become YouTube stars and ask some snarky question that’s been asked 8 times,” Spicer explained. “There is a bit of snarkiness now with the press because … a lot of them are more focused about getting their clip on air than they are about actually taking the time to understand an issue.”
Basically, flailing cable news network CNN (whose ratings lag far behind rivals Fox News and MSNBC) is upset it can no longer cash in with daily, live pot-shots at the Trump administration.
Meanwhile, no one complained when Barack Obama‘s administration did not hold daily on-camera briefings. For eight years, those pressers were rarely televised. That’s because those briefings were not ratings cash cows the way the Trump pressers are.
Besides, never before have mainstream media been so obviously biased while bloviating leftist propaganda masquerading as “news.” So it’s no wonder the Trump White House has no interest in indulging their blood-sport desire to launch “gotcha!” questions every single day.
