Some New Jersey high school students learned firsthand about freedom of expression and got a shout out from President Trump in the process.
Montana and Wyatt Dobrovich-Fago had raised a red flag when they encountered what they believed was censorship in the Wall Township High School yearbook. Two students’ yearbook photos had President Trump’s name digitally removed and a quote from the president was also removed from another student’s photo.

Amid backlash for the blatant bias, the school’s yearbook adviser was suspended and the yearbooks re-issued, in their original, uncensored format.

With all the outpouring of support for the students, they were probably most surprised to receive a letter from the executive director of Trump’s campaign and a package filled with campaign memorabilia.
The president himself then thanked the students in a Facebook post on Monday featuring a photo of the letter from Michael Glassner and another photo of Wyatt with the package of goodies.
“Thank you Wyatt and Montana — two young Americans who aren’t afraid to stand up for what they believe in. Our movement to #MAGA is working because of great people like you!” Trump wrote on Facebook.
“It is more important than ever that we, as Americans, stand up for our beliefs and hopes for a better country,” Glassner wrote in the letter. “And, as you know, it takes courage to do so. But freedom of expression should never go out of style — let’s not forget that!”
“I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors and, on behalf of President Trump and Vice President Pence, thank you again for your support. Let’s work to Make America Great Again!”
The Facebook post has been like over 62,000 times since Trump shared it on Monday and generated more than 2,000 comments, many praising the president for reaching out to the students.
Twitter users also applauded the gesture and the tenacity of the students who brought the incident to light.

Good! How dare the school do this WTH. It’s ok that they show the President’s head, but students cannot wear a shirt of support. Messed up.
