It’s not often conservatives and liberals unite, but when Chelsea Clinton hammered her former bosses at NBC News it marked one of those occasions.
The former first daughter was seething after NBC News’ newest host, Megyn Kelly, announced that her next show on Sunday would feature an interview with renowned conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

Among Jones’ fringe conspiracy theories are:
- The attacks of September 11, 2001 were an inside job perpetrated by the U.S government and that Osama bin Laden worked for the CIA.
- The government is controlling the weather and using it as a weapon.
- Human and animal hybrids have been created for the past 30 years.
- The government staged various attacks as false flags. Among them the Pulse nightclub attack one year ago on Monday, the Boston Marathon bombing, the San Bernardino shooting and, the one that most disturbed Clinton and others, that the Sandy Hook shooting was a false flag that used child actors.
Clinton smashed the network for giving Jones a forum to “amplify” hit nutty rhetoric, one the same day many conservatives excoriated Kelly for labelling Jones as one of them.

There is no justification for amplifying lies (or a liar), particularly about unimaginable tragedy. I hope no parent, no person watches this https://t.co/nSt1MGGM2U

She was joined in her consternation by Nelba Marquez-Greene, whose daughter Ana was murdered in the shooting spree that took the lives of 20 students and six teachers at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT.
Every week. 5 years later. Still harrased by truthers. You do NOT give crazy a platform. You’re better than this @nbc https://t.co/aIPM73FZgr

I promise you it’s not riveting. How you you feel if someone shot your kids, some fool said it wasn’t true- and I gave him a show? https://t.co/xma9Z30IjW

Here you go @megynkelly – her name is Ana Grace Márquez-Greene. Say her name- stare at this & tell me it’s worth it. @nbc #SandyHook pic.twitter.com/mKrU63KWmA

Because this is what it looks like when you shine light on #AlexJones – they don’t go away. They double down @megynkelly . #SandyHook pic.twitter.com/GjeBVpC6HR

I am so sorry Nelba you continually confront disbelief and derision. It should be obvious how very, very wrong that is.

The family of teacher Vicki Soto, who was killed while protecting her students from gunman Adam Lanza, wrote one Facebook to express their anger at NBC’s decision.
