Grieving moms of fallen soldiers at Arlington so grateful to have a president that cares

President Trump and Vice President Pence consoled grieving mom Alison Malachowksi, whose son Jimmy died in battle.

President Donald Trump paid homage to the fallen men and women of the U.S. military during a somber Memorial Day service, where he said their legacies “will endure forever.”

Trump expressed “boundless” gratitude to lost service members, thanking them for the sacrifices they made to secure the freedoms we enjoy today:

“They each had their own names, their own stories, their own beautiful dreams. But they were all angels sent to us by God, and they all share one title in common and that is the title of hero, real heroes.

We pay tribute to those brave souls who raced into gunfire, roared into battle, and ran into hell to face down evil. Though they were here only a brief time before God called them home, their legacy will endure forever.”

President Trump laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

The president was accompanied to Arlington by Vice President Mike Pence, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and a group of Cabinet members and advisers, including Housing Secretary Dr. Ben Carson.

Before delivering his Memorial Day speech, Trump sang along to the national anthem. Amazingly, the patriotic gesture drew ugly criticism from cynical liberals, who said he “looked ridiculous.”

In contrast, Trump supporters were thrilled to finally have a president who’s unabashedly proud of his country.

While at Arlington, President Trump was approached by two grieving mothers who had lost their sons in battle.

Alison Malachowksi is the mom of Staff Sgt. Jimmy Malachowski, who was killed in 2011. Mrs. Malachowksi told the president she’s heartbroken that no one acknowledged her son’s sacrifice.

“Mr. Trump, my son was killed in Afghanistan in 2011, and nobody made any effort to acknowledge it,” Malachowksi said.

“I did,” he told her.

“It means a lot to me, it really does,” Mrs. Malachowksi said. “My son loved this country very, very much. Jimmy knew he wasn’t coming home. And he said, ‘Mama, I hope that people don’t forget that I ever lived.’ If you could just remember Jimmy, that would mean so much to me.”

“I will remember,” Trump promised. “I will remember.”
