In a story that encapsulates just how reckless social media can be in disseminating fake news — and how gullible people can be — a false report that Fox News’ Tucker Carlson was killed in a car crash swept across Facebook.
A fake news site claimed Tucker “succumbed to his injuries and died overnight after being hit head-on while driving home,” according to The Inquisitr.
…and the death hoax was shared on Facebook more than 16K times overall.

Adding to the conspiratorial nature of such reports, the article claimed that Carlson was “working on two huge stories, either of which could have put him in danger.”
The article prompted responses from those who apparently believed the false report:

Naturally, the haters made themselves known as well… although it boggles the mind to think how an accident that allegedly kills someone can be “worse.” Sounds a lot like liberal logic, no?
I wish the accident was worse. Karma is a bitch
