Apparently, there’s more than one way to skin a cat.
While President Trump certainly intends to fight the nonsensical, leftist decisions brought down by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals all the way to the Supreme Court, another way to go at the longstanding problem could be to use his executive power to limit this particular loony leftist court’s power.
And according to an interview the president gave to the Washington Examiner, Trump is “absolutely” considering it.

“There are many people that want to break up the 9th Circuit. It’s outrageous,” Trump told the Examiner. “Everybody immediately runs to the 9th Circuit. And we have a big country. We have lots of other locations. But they immediately run to the 9th Circuit. Because they know that’s like, semi-automatic.”
As a result, liberals who want a certain result simply “judge shop” to make sure they get it.
“You see judge shopping, or what’s gone on with these people, they immediately run to the 9th Circuit,” Trump told the Examiner. “It’s got close to an 80 percent reversal period, and what’s going on in the 9th Circuit is a shame.”
After U.S. District Judge William Orrick temporarily blocked Trump’s attempts to defund so-called sanctuary cities, the president knows that, since Orrick is based in San Francisco, any appeal will have to go through the 9th Circuit.
Which means, just like the 9th’s rulings on Trump’s efforts to temporarily ban travel from terrorist hot spots, everyone knows what the answer will be before the decision even comes down.
“The language could not be any clearer. I mean, the language on the ban, it reads so easy that a reasonably good student in the first grade will fully understand it. And they don’t even mention the words in their rejection on the ban. And the same thing with this [sanctuary city decision]. I mean, when you have people that are being enabled to commit crime. And in San Francisco, when you look at Kate Steinle being shot and here is the court, you know, right in that same general area. And when you look at a Kate Steinle, when you look at so many other things,” Trump said.
“Sanctuary cities have been very, very dangerous, very, very bad.”
The notorious court wasn’t dubbed the ‘Nutty 9th Circuit’ for nothing.
While Republicans have introduced bills in the past to change the 9th Circuit’s jurisdiction and lighten their caseload by creating a new court, with President Trump’s support such a measure could actually pass.
According to the Examiner, 18 of its 25 judges were appointed by Democratic presidents.
Of course, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer isn’t a fan of the idea, tweeting an “absolutely not” Wednesday evening.
