Glenn Beck fires off internal email; gets Twitter buzzing about motivation behind O’Reilly ousting

Bill O’Reilly‘s firing was apparently orchestrated by George Soros-funded activist group Media Matters and Democratic donor Mary Pat Bonner, according to an internal email and social media postings.

One day before O’Reilly was fired, his attorney Marc Kasowitz released a statement calling the sexual harassment accusations a “smear campaign” aimed at character assassination. Kasowitz said his law firm had “irrefutable evidence” supporting his statement.

An e-mail obtained by The Blaze founder Glenn Beck appears to confirm that Media Matters had colluded with Bonner to pressure advertisers to boycott “The O’Reilly Factor.” Bonner recently served as a donor adviser to Hillary Clinton‘s failed presidential campaign.

A Twitter post by Media Matters president Angelo Carusone one day before O’Reilly was fired promised that not only would O’Reilly be ousted, but so would Fox News co-president Bill Shine.

Beck’s tweet received a lot of play on Twitter:

After he was fired, Bill O’Reilly released a statement calling the accusations baseless. “It is tremendously disheartening that we part ways due to completely unfounded claims,” he said.

For years, O’Reilly warned his viewers that liberals were trying to destroy Fox News because of its tremendous success and worldwide reach. Fox News Channel’s ratings crush liberal cable news networks CNN and MSNBC on a daily basis.

Even though FNC employs many outspoken liberals like Shepard Smith, Juan Williams and Bob Beckel, it is the only major conservative TV news outlet. For this reason, Bill O’Reilly has often said on “The O’Reilly Factor” — the No. 1 cable news show for the past 16 years — that Fox News’ rivals were out to get them.

While liberals are celebrating O’Reilly’s firing, they may not realize that FNC’s lethal new prime-time lineup is even more politically conservative without O’Reilly.

Tucker Carlson will slide into the 8 p.m. time slot. And Eric Bolling will get his own daily TV show. Both are more right-leaning than Bill O’Reilly was. So if the goal in booting O’Reilly was to silence conservative viewpoints, that won’t be happening anytime soon.
