Offering a perspective that seems to have lost relevance in the post-Obama era, Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume wrapped up President Donald Trump‘s week.
… complete with a bow.
Referencing the focus of the anti-Trump mainstream media over the past few days — Vice President Mike Pence respects his wife and White House chief strategist Steve Bannon earned at least $1.3 million in income last year — Hume summed it all up on social media with the beloved dry wit he is known for:
“Oh, the horror.”
Tough few days for Trump White House. Bannon et al revealed to be rich. And Mike Pence convicted of marital fidelity. Oh, the horror.

Then again, considering how the left demonizes success in support of the entitlement class and eschews Christian values in their quest to avoid personal responsibility, it’s no real surprise that they would put a negative spin on these stories.
The tweet resulted in an interesting exchange between Hume and the National Review’s Jonah Goldberg, an early enthusiast of the “Never Trump” movement — after Trump was elected, Goldberg did say Never Trump “is over” and he would “call ’em like I see ’em.”
@JonahNRO Its ok Jonah. You can display a little sympathy for the guy. I won’t tell.
— Brit Hume (@brithume) April 2, 2017
@brithume I have. Some of the attacks are unfair. But I find the rush to treat him as a victim is off-putting too. He made a lot of this mess himself.
— Jonah Goldberg (@JonahNRO) April 2, 2017
@JonahNRO Of course. He’s like a man heading in the right direction but determined to step in every pile of s**t in his path.

How’s THAT for perspective!
Here’s a sampling of other entertaining responses to Hume’s tweet from Twitter:
@brithume Where & when does this liberal hysteria & false narrative nonsense end?
— Jersey Jake (@MonmouthNJ53) April 1, 2017
@brithume OMG imagine how the #LooneyLiberals will run w this info! #Bannon #Pence pic.twitter.com/XR3xUZis14

@brithume The Dems are on a serious impeachment hunt and it gets more vile every day with little to show for it.
— Janet Nadler (@NadlerJanet) April 1, 2017
@brithume Funny, Trump people WORKED for their money. Libs complain. Clintons worth similar amounts virtually never working outside gov’t! Libs silent
— Tre (@GLR3TX) April 1, 2017
@brithume A good thing to have people who have wealth that was not made through gov’t jobs. And that our VP has a high moral code makes me smile!
— SC Gran (@TammieF70119022) April 1, 2017
@brithume All the pearl clutchers are aghast! After they calm down they will return to their pedophile activities, like good little “spirit-cookers”
— Leone Agnello (@LionandLamb) April 1, 2017
@brithume Meanwhile, presidential quotes delivered via twitter, without intermediation by press corps which is losing all purpose. Oh, the humanity.

@brithume I truly appreciate your lack of nuance. Bravo sir!
