‘How is this empowering?’ Singer Alicia Keys baffles with tweet glorifying a hijab-wearing ballerina

Singer Alicia Keys celebrated the “power” and “strength” of “beautiful” women in a tweet featuring a ballerina –  in a hijab.

Of course, the contradiction of a hijab-wearing ballerina aside, Keys apparently has joined the new movement trying to make the headcovering worn by many Muslim women appear cool, and even be seen as a new symbol of feminism.

But the liberal mindset doesn’t seem to want to grasp the idea that the dress code for Muslim women could be seen as oppressive and anything but empowering.

Not too many liberals championing the “stregth” of hijab wearers are lining up to visit or live in the countries that require the headdress.

Twitter users blasted the 36 year-old Grammy award winner who one called “a  singer with the knowledge of a lamp” for her ridiculous posturing.
