Poor Valerie Jarrett, political war refugee.
After a long career serving as senior adviser to President Obama and with no place for her in the Trump Administration (obviously), the newly-minted displaced political refugee needed someone, anyone, to take her in.
For the former president’s part, what with a $65 million book deal and a gigantic 8,200-square-foot, $5.3-million Kaloroma mansion to fill, the addition of one more mouth to feed didn’t seem like all that much trouble, as long as his former employee pulls her weight.

And Jarrett certainly intends to. In fact, the Daily Mail reports that not only is Jarrett moving in, she and the former president’s wife, Michelle, are planning to use the house as a “nerve center” of sorts to try and plot ways to oust Donald Trump from the presidency, either through resignation or impeachment.
Apparently, instead of golfing, wind-surfing, writing his memoirs and generally staying out of people’s hair and giving his successor a real shot, Obama intends to, with the aid of his new houseguest, do everything he can to usurp the new president.
But the real question that comes to mind is, does admitting Jarrett into his house qualify as “accepting refugees?”
After all, Obama has been more than clear on the subject:
Slamming the door in the face of refugees would betray our deepest values. That's not who we are. And it's not what we're going to do.

When former President Obama DOES admit a few REAL Syrian refugees into his gigantic 8,200-square-foot, $5.3-million Kaloroma mansion, maybe we can talk about removing the “hypocrite” label.
