CNN host Don Lemon likes to dish it out, but apparently he can’t take it.
The “fake news” charge is like kryptonite to increasingly thin-skinned leftist media types, as GOP political analyst Paris Dennard showed the world Friday night when he appeared on Lemon’s panel to discuss President Trump’s security detail costs.
After the liberals on the panel, all of whom have suddenly gotten religion on governmental spending, took turns bashing President Donald Trump and the expenses required to protect him and his family, Dennard was asked to weigh in.
“I think this is fake news. This is not…this is not a news story,” Dennard said.
“What about it is fake, Paris?” Lemon asked. “Are we going down this road again?”
“Yeah we are! Let me just tell you why. The President is not breaking any laws, and he’s not doing anything wrong,” Dennard responded.
Lemon, obviously aggravated at this point, told Dennard to “please stop it with that stupid talking point…” The CNN host then explained his version of what a “fake news” story actually is. “Fake news is when you put out a story to intentionally deceive someone and you know that it is wrong. This story that we’re doing right now is not to intentionally deceive anyone. We are simply talking about the cost to keep a president safe.”
Dennard, obviously feeling that Lemon’s definition was a bit too narrow, doubled down. “Don, this is a fake news story in my opinion because ….”
At this point, thin-skinned Don Lemon had had enough. He cut Dennard off, then walked off the show while the camera was rolling.
“OK, Paris, thank you very much everyone,” Lemon said as he got up. “Thanks. everyone, thanks for watching. Have a great weekend. Goodnight, all.”
