Leftists have gotten so used to taking handouts they think life is a permanent free ride. Black students at the University of Wisconsin at Madison are demanding free tuition and housing as slavery reparations.
Tyriek Mack, who drafted the “gimme free tuition” resolution, says African-Americans are still suffering the vestiges of slavery (even though a black man was just president for two terms).
As a result, Mack says black students — including ex-convicts — should be compensated for past “white supremacy” by getting free tuition and housing as reparations.
Mack and his allies also say university admissions should not rely on SAT or ACT scores for black students, saying they under-perform standardized tests because the tests favor white students, the Associated Press reported.
Meanwhile, there are countless immigrant minorities who earn near-perfect SAT scores every year even though English is not their first language.
Also, let’s not forget that neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson got sky-high SAT scores even though he was raised in a dirt-poor Detroit ghetto by a single mom.

The resolution by students at the University of Wisconsin follows similar demands made by the Black Liberation Collective to 90 colleges across the country. Basically, these groups demand free stuff and lower standards when evaluating blacks for admission.
The goal is to increase black student enrollment at University of Wisconsin Madison, where blacks make up 2% of the student population. Meanwhile, white students have not issued similar demands to boost white enrollment at the 107 black colleges and universities around the country.

Officials at the University of Wisconsin-Madison responded by saying it will use a $10 million gift to expand scholarships for minorities and will roll out other initiatives to benefit black students. But Tyriek Mack and black students say that’s not enough.
Leftists constantly bleat that you can’t blame all Muslims for Islamic terrorism, but you can blame all whites for slavery and racism. Interestingly, many Arabs in Muslim countries have owned black slaves for centuries, and liberals say nothing about it. Let that sink in.
Muslims started the African slave trade & today in 2017 there are more slaves in the Arab world than 🇺🇸in 1861 #Parliament #Shariah

Also, if the University of Wisconsin students actually took a history class, they’d discover that not all whites owned slaves. And the state of Wisconsin did not have slavery. So why should all whites today be held accountable for what other people’s ancestors did 150 years ago?
Only a small percentage of wealthy Southerners owned slaves at the height of slavery; the poor ones did not. And almost all Northern states did not have slavery.
Black activists forget that there are longstanding government schemes in place to benefit African-Americans: Affirmative action (in admissions and hiring) and social welfare programs.
According to a recent Princeton University study, African-Americans receive a “bonus” of 230 points when being considered for college admission.
This means that admissions officers are told to mentally add 230 points to a black applicant’s SAT scores when considering him for admission, to help make up for any social injustices that may have contributed to his lower test scores.
Students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison had mixed reactions to the “free tuition for blacks” gambit.
Bevan, a black-white biracial woman, called the program a good idea. “There’s such a small number of (black) people on campus, it’s very easy to feel like you’re alone,” Bevan told the Associated Press.
Chinese grad student Yuhong Zhu was confused by the resolution. “I wouldn’t appreciate if the school offered me free tuition just because I’m a minority,” Zhu said. “We should at least have to work hard for it.”
Jared Akers, a white student, called the resolution “odd.” “That kind of seems like a handout more than doing them any favors,” Akers said.
Meanwhile, Twitter called the “free tuition” resolution reverse racism.
