CNN trolls Flynn over resignation with ‘what lasted longer’ clip; imagine if Fox News did this?

The resignation of former White House National Security Adviser Michael T. Flynn set off an avalanche of news stories and social media commentary.

CNN wasted no time trolling Flynn with a feature mocking his short-lived tenure.

“Which was longer, Flynn’s job or Kim Kardashian’s marriage?” CNN asked in the two-minute segment.

Flynn’s less than one-month in office inspired the #LastedLongerthanFlynn hashtag as Twitter users offered up their ideas.

“Everyone is making the same joke,” CNN’s Jeanne Moos noted in the segment as it took a look at the effect Flynn’s resignation had after only 23 days in office.

Flynn resigned Monday amid accusations that he misled Vice President Mike Pence about discussing sanctions with the Russian ambassador in a phone call. Flynn insisted that he “crossed no lines” in that conversation, expressing concern over the leaks of classified information, especially as the mainstream media continues to try to Russia to President Donald Trump and his administration.

The president suggested in a tweet on Wednesday that the media’s obsession with Russian interference in the campaign was due to Hillary Clinton’s election defeat.

Iowa Congressman Steve King proposed that the Russian connection was part of CNN’s imagination in an appearance on the network on Wednesday.

“I think it’s a CNN narrative that the allegations that the Russians were trying to influence the US election between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton,” King told “New Day” anchor Alisyn Camerota.

“Hold on a minute! CNN didn’t invent this!” Camerota fired back. “As you know, there was a score of intelligence agencies — seventeen of them — that concluded that Russia had hacked and meddled in our election.”

“Alisyn, there was dissent among that,” King said pointing to intel community reports that were purely opinion-based.
