Furious parents demand discipline for teachers busted in a bar playing obscene game about their kids

Outraged Michigan parents are demanding the recall of an entire school board after video surfaced of teachers making inappropriate comments about their students.

Two teachers received a written reprimand and a secretary resigned following the posting Monday of a six-minute video on YouTube that allegedly showed Bangor Public Schools faculty sitting at the Bangor Tavern Bar and Grill playing an obscene game, WZZM reported.

The group of seven men and women was recorded by a customer while they were allegedly discussing which students they would have sex with, marry, or kill.

“It was heartbreaking,” Amanda Reprogal, whose 15-year-old son was mentioned in the video, told Fox17-TV.  “My heart sank, and I was disgusted.”

Bangor Police Chief Tommy Simpson told WZZM he did not see anything in the video to warrant charges being issued but angry parents disagreed.

They vented their frustration at a meeting at Bangor High School on Monday night, calling for the resignation of the school board and the schools’ chief operating officer, WWMT reported.

“I would like to see people being held accountable,”Amanda Reprogal, the mother of a special needs student mentioned in the video, told WWMT. “There are some criminal charges being pressed. I’m not sure how that’s going to go, but I don’t want to see anybody lose their job, but this is not okay, you got to go.”

“So what happens next?” a WWMT reporter asked district lawyer Robert Huber following the meeting.

“Nothing. The discipline is in the file,” he replied. “I say that we made our best assessment based on the facts and reasonable minds can differ about things,”

He explained to Fox 17 that the suspended teachers would be on a probationary period for five years and closely watched.

“We’re going to be following up and monitoring how these teachers do,” he said. “I think they’ve learned their lesson from all of this.”

For parents of the Bangor school, that simply is not enough and, according to WWMT, they are reaching out to the Michigan Department of Education.
