CNN anchor Jake Tapper chastised President Donald Trump on Saturday for taking on the judge who halted his travel ban.
The host of “The Lead” said the president’s tweets attacking Judge James Robart were unique and that Presidents Obama and Bush had not done similar things.

Plenty of federal judges handed down decisions challenging actions by Presidents Obama/Bush — they never personally attacked the judges.

But he then quickly cited examples of both presidents making similar statements.
It was controversial at the time when Obama criticized Citizens United as “wrong” at SOTU. https://t.co/MzTFOFVhWn

“We’ll abide by the court’s decision — that doesn’t mean I have to agree with it,” Bush said after Gitmo decision. https://t.co/Y0Fibzuiad

I cannot recall either president ever personally attacking a judge as if it were a rap beef. Because it’s widely considered inappropriate.
— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) February 4, 2017
Rap beef? Perhaps Jake is thinking of Eminem’s threat to destroy “b*tch” Trump.
Twitter users were quick to remind Tapper of a time when President Obama went after Supreme Court justices on a national stage.
@JayCaruso I just don’t equate “this court decision was wrong” with “that judge is a stinky pants”
— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) February 4, 2017
@jaketapper @nytimes You compare that to what Obama did to SCOTUS? Moreover, Trump is also abiding by the ruling.

@jaketapper Could argue chastising the highest court in the country during a SOTU is worse than an early morning tweet
— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) February 4, 2017
@redsteeze sure if one were changing the subject. My focus was specially a personal attack on a judge by a president. Period.
— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) February 4, 2017
No Jake. You are going after President Trump specifically.
why is it worse to personally attack a judge than attack the legitimacy of entire court? @jaketapper @redsteeze
