Move over Mike Pence. The world could get another lecture from Hamilton cast members.
Phillipa Soo, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Jasmine Cephas Jones, the original actresses who portrayed the Schuyler Sisters in the Broadway phenomenon Hamilton, have been asked to perform “America the Beautiful” at this year’s Super Bowl, according to the New York Times.
Your girls are backkkk & including women in the sequel. See U at the Super Bowl. 2017. @reneeelisegolds @Phillipasoo https://t.co/tFn4g2F04O

The actresses, who portrayed Eliza Schuyler, Alexander Hamilton’s wife, and her two sisters Angelica and Peggy, will perform during the live televised pregame show on February 5.
Will any of the three take a cue from fellow cast member Brandon Dixon, the hypocritical actor who in November, after portraying Aaron Burr, then proceeded to lecture attendee Mike Pence at the play’s close?
“Vice President-elect Pence, we welcome you and we truly thank you for joining us here at ‘Hamilton: An American Musical.’ We really do,” Dixon said. “We, sir, we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir. But we truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us. All of us. Thank you.”
With the world watching, will the temptation to do more than just “shut up and sing” be too much to overcome? Maybe it will and maybe it won’t, but in this age of liberal temper tantrums, sadly nothing will be a surprise.
