More Chicago CARNAGE: 6 shot while attending a memorial, including mother of the deceased

The carnage in Barack Obama’s adopted hometown of Chicago continues, this time six people were shot at a memorial for an earlier shooting victim.

On January 25 family and friends were holding a memorial for 20-year-old Jamayah “Tinka” Fields who became a victim of Chicago violence two days before. But as they mourned someone opened fire on the group causing even more bloodshed.

The shooting, which occurred around 8:15 PM in the Windy City’s Greater Grand Crossing community, resulted in six more victims of Chicago’s rampant crime.

“That’s the only thing I could do, I hit the floor,” one person in the memorial party told the Chicago Tribune.

Community activist Jedidiah Brown told the media that a 12-year-old girl and the mother of the deceased were counted among the wounded, NBC Chicago reported.

Fortunately, the little girl suffered only a graze wound to the head and will be fine, authorities said.

Among the others wounded, one woman was shot in the leg and another was shot in the hand. Two boys were also shot, one in the leg and buttock and the other in the arm. All were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

“I’m asking that those individuals who may see this, that are planning retaliation right now, that you stand down from that and that we look for peaceful alternatives,” Jedidiah Brown said. It is also fortunate that no one died in the attack.

Chicago Police said they believe some involved in the Wednesday shooting were also involved in another shooting in west suburban Bedford Park.

President Trump was highly criticized for use of the word “carnage” in his inauguration speech when referring to growing inner city violence. After a deadly weekend, Trump doubled-down with his assertion on Twitter, warning Chicago he might send in the feds if they don’t fix the “horrible carnage.”
