Showing a level of class her sibling surely lacks, Wynonna Judd took to social media to distance herself from sister Ashley Judd’s unhinged rant at the feminist march in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, January 21.
It was a speech Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly and others characterized as “insane charges of fascism, racism and the like” coming from “the crazy left.”
Ashley Judd recited a poem called “I’m a Nasty Woman,” that was well received by the anti-Trump marchers.
“I am a nasty woman. Not as nasty as a man who looks like he bathes in Cheeto dust, a man whose words are a dis to America, Electoral College–sanctioned hate speech contaminating this national anthem,” she said. “I’m not as nasty as Confederate flags being tattooed across my city. Maybe the South actually is going to rise again, maybe for some, it never really fell. Blacks are still in shackles and graves just for being black. Slavery has been reinterpreted as the prison system, in front of people who see melanin as animal skin.”

The backlash to the reading was so intense, Wynonna felt compelled to respond on Twitter the same day:
A reminder for people visiting my site. For me, it's about love of 🎶 & fellowship w/ fans. I don't do politics on here.

The whole thing is toxic. I'm not giving her all the credit. She doesn't have that kind of power. https://t.co/GuUpBnLFYM

I have supported my country for 52yrs, I've sung for 5 presidents, & I will support my country until I take my last breath. 🎶🇺🇸🎶 https://t.co/dF7vLHuOcP

Clearly, Wynonna continued to feel the effects of her sister’s antics over the next several days.
Lol, I have to say… I love how so many are telling me what I should or should not be doing about my relationship w/ my sister. Wow.
— Wynonna (@Wynonna) January 24, 2017
But she was just as clear that she did not share Ashley’s militant, hard left political views.
“I am not my sister’s keeper. The end,” the country music singer concluded.

Last time I saw my sister we hugged. And, in our family we agree to disagree and we support WHO we are. Anyone else relate?

(1) I will not defend what doesn’t need defending, (God knows my heart & my family does too), & (2)
I am not my sister’s keeper. The end.— Wynonna (@Wynonna) January 24, 2017
What she does publicly is none of my business. If she asks, I will tell her what I think personally.
There is a higher power & I am not it.— Wynonna (@Wynonna) January 24, 2017
Wynonna also showed that, as an American citizen, she puts love of country before politics:
???? What if we took the next 24hrs and talked about the positive? I’ll go first.
We live in the greatest country in the world!!!! ????— Wynonna (@Wynonna) January 24, 2017
