Clueless anti-Trump celebs on Variety cover try to look pro-America, but break one MAJOR patriotic rule

Liberals can’t even fake patriotism.

Variety,” the trade magazine for the entertainment industry, is making one last anti-Donald Trump stab on the eve of the president-elect’s inauguration by issuing a special Inauguration Issue of the publication.

It features from left to right on its cover 9/11 truther and CNN contributor Van Jones, occasional filmmaker Michael Moore, comedienne Chelsea Handler, hoax rape victim Lebna Dunham and “Hamilton” actor Brandon Victor Dixon.

They’re depicted defiantly holding the American flag much like a vampire slayer might clutch a crucifix to ward off the coming evil.

There’s only one problem: The flag is touching the floor, something every Brownie and Cub Scout knows is verboten.

And this isn’t just tradition or a matter of flag etiquette — it’s a violation of federal law.

Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Code provides in paragraph (b) that: “The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.”

Folks on social media weren’t amused.

At least one thought “Variety” should share the blame.

The next time the magazine pulls a stunt like this, they should hire a Girl Scout as a technical advisor — and pay her well.
