Country music legend Garth Brooks says he’ll be unable to perform at Friday’s inauguration, but nonetheless has a message for Americans under the forthcoming Donald Trump administration.

“I’ll tell you with this whole presidential thing: We got one going out. Pray for him and his family. And for the president going in, pray for him and his family to guide this nation,” the country singer said.
“Let’s stay together. Love, unity — that’s what it’s all about,” he added.
Brooks had praise for the outgoing president as well.

“We can’t thank the Obamas enough for serving this country,” Brooks continued. “And may God hold Trump’s hand in the decisions that he makes in this country’s name as well.”
When the country music legend was approached by billionaire Steve Wynn to perform at the inauguration ceremony, Brooks said he’d “leave it up to karma.” As it turned out scheduling conflicts on his current tour prevented his appearance Friday.
