A day after Democratic Congressman John Lewis said he did not see Donald Trump as a legitimate president, the president-elect fired back on Twitter.
Trump said the civil rights icon should focus more on his district, which he said is in “horrible shape.”
“All talk, talk, talk – no action or results. Sad!” he added.
The response was enough to prompt at least one Democratic lawmaker to join Lewis in skipping Friday’s presidential inauguration.
Posting a photo of Lewis marching arm-in-arm alongside Dr. Martin Luther King more than 50 years ago, Rep. Mark Takano, D-Calif., declared on Twitter: “‘All talk, no action.’ I stand with@repjohnlewis and I will not be attending the inauguration.”

The dust-up between Trump and Lewis began when the Georgia Democrat denounced the president-elect during an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
“I don’t see this president-elect as a legitimate president,” Lewis told anchor Lester Hold, adding that Trump was only elected because of “a conspiracy” involving Russia.
