Democrats were not happy after they met with FBI Director James Comey on Friday for a classified briefing on Russian hacking during the election.
“I was nonjudgmental until the last 15 minutes. I no longer have that confidence in him,” Minnesota Rep. Tim Walz said after the meeting.
“Some of the things that were revealed in this classified briefing — my confidence has been shook.”
Congresswoman Maxine Waters was more blunt.
“The FBI Director has no credibility,” she said.
A Democrat attendee told the Daily Beast that the meeting was “incredibly uncomfortable.”
“People were mad, people were loud. It was like…they wanted Comey’s head on a plate,” the congressional aide said.
“There was a big shit show toward the end of the briefing where Debbie Wasserman Schultz, in an attempt at a public [cover-your-ass], badgered Comey in front of everyone basically blaming him for her losing her job, saying the FBI hadn’t properly warned the DNC they were being hacked, and hadn’t been more aggressive in their attempt to alert the DNC,” a staffer for The Hill said. “It lasted an uncomfortable amount of time, like 5 minutes. Republicans were booing and calling for her to sit down.”
