Dems lose, again! Why the anti-police painting hanging in the Capitol is being removed for good

Finally, someone willing to enforce the rules.

Capitol Architect Stephen T. Ayer will reportedly remove the offensive painting hanging in the Capitol that depicts law enforcement as pigs, The Daily Caller has reported.

After receiving a letter from Representative Dave Reichart (R-WA) on Wednesday noting the fact that the painting actually violated explicit competition guidelines by portraying “subjects of contemporary political controversy or a sensationalistic or gruesome nature,” Ayer agreed and intends to have it removed after the upcoming Martin Luther King holiday.

The painting, which portray police as pigs shooting black protesters, is called “Untitled #1” and was created by St. Louis high school student David Pulphus. It was originally placed in the U.S. Capitol complex by Missouri Rep. William Lacy Clay.

According to a statement from Rep. Reichert, “The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to celebrate the creativity of students in every corner of our country – and visitors from around the world see their talents on display when they walk through the halls of our Capitol. However, with any competition there are rules, and these rules exist for a reason. This painting hung in clear defiance to those rules and was a slap in the face to the countless men and women who put their lives on the line everyday on behalf of our safety and freedom.”

Several days ago, Rep. Duncan Hunter tried to remove it the old-fashioned way, but this time, hopefully, the painting will be gone for good.
