You are not in Kansas anymore, CNN.
President-elect Donald Trump held a much anticipated press conference Tuesday, and he began by lacing into Buzzfeed and CNN.
“Your organization is terrible,” Trump said to CNN’s Jim Acosta as the reporter repeatedly tried to get the president-elect to answer a question.
“You’re attacking us, can you give us a question?” Acosta, who was sitting in the front row, pressed as Trump continued to tell him to “be quiet.”
“Don’t be rude. No, I’m not going to give you a question. You are fake news,” Trump responded, calling on another reporter.
CNN later reacted on air as Acosta spoke to Wolf Blitzer and Jake Tapper about the incident, saying the question he intended to ask Trump ended up being asked by another reporter. He also noted that incoming White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer told him if he repeated his actions, he would be “thrown out” of the press conference.
CNN also released a statement defending themselves against the “fake news” accusations by the president-elect.
“Given that members of the Trump transition team have so vocally criticized our reporting,” the statement said, “we encourage them to identify, specifically, what they believe to be inaccurate.”
