After all this time, it’s difficult for MSNBC’s Chris Matthews to top himself when it comes to low-ball politics, but that’s just what the “Hardball” host did in reacting to the news that President-elect Donald Trump is expected to tap son-in-law Jared Kushner as a senior adviser.
In a jarring comparison, Matthews pointed to Uday and Qusay Saddam, the deceased sons of the late Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussien — the elder son, Uday, was a brutal sadist with a history of rape and murder, while Qusay, who was the head of internal security forces, was said to be responsible for the killing of many political activists.

Matthews’ beef is that the appointment of Kushner is a violation of anti-nepotism laws.
For what it’s worth, Matthews appeared to steal the comparison from HBO’s “Real Time” host Bill Maher, who made the same assertion in September while discussing Trump’s sons.
Fox News’ Greg Gufeld was quick to draw attention to Matthews’ egregious analogy, posting on Twitter:

Not that social media users need a reason, but Gutfeld’s spotlight resulted in open season on Matthews.
