Remember when President-elect Donald Trump claimed on the campaign trail that there would be a time when Americans would win so much under his administration that we’d grow tired of it?
Well?
On Sunday Fiat Chrysler Automobiles announced plans to build a new manufacturing facility in Warren, Michigan to produce a pickup truck line currently being built in Mexico.
The plant will also manufacture Jeep’s line of large SUVs — the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer.
The facility will create 2,000 new jobs for residents of the Great Lake State and will require a $1 billion investment, according to Reuters.
Think of that as an investment in America’s future.
Reuters reported:
[Fiat Chrysler Automobile’s] announcement that it would retool factories in Ohio and Michigan to build new Jeep sport utility vehicles, including a pickup truck, and potentially move production of a Ram heavy-duty pickup truck to Michigan from Mexico, also highlighted the auto industry’s keen interest in getting relief from tough fuel economy rules enacted by the outgoing Obama administration.
General Motors Co (GM.N) Chief Executive Mary Barra on Sunday said tax reform and “streamlining regulations … are just two areas that would be extremely beneficial” for Trump to address. Trump has criticized GM for building cars in Mexico while laying off workers in the United States.
Berra, who is on Trump’s advisory committee, reportedly had a conversation with the president-elect on Tuesday — five days before the announcement, and said of Trump, “we have much more in common than we have different.”
Following the president-elect’s lead on the use of social media, Fiat Chrysler also made its announcement on Twitter, which started tongues wagging.

Eleven days before the inauguration and we’re already seeing a brighter future. It’s called American exceptionalism — a phrase President Obama downplayed but one which Trump is embracing.
