Franklin Graham believes there was intervention on Donald Trump’s behalf in the presidential election, but he doesn’t think Russia was behind it.
I don’t have any scientific information. I don’t have a stack of emails to read to you. But I have an opinion,” the evangelist told the crowd at Trump’s final “thank you” rally in Mobile, Alabama. “I believe it was God. God showed up. He answered the prayers of hundreds of thousands of people across this land who had been praying for this country.”
The comments are similar to what Graham, the son of Rev. Billy Graham, said days after the election.
“I could sense going across the country that God was going to do something this year,” he told The Washington Post on Nov. 10. “And I believe that at this election, God showed up.”
And while he didn’t officially endorse a candidate during the election it was apparent he believes America is in good hands.
“You have to judge a person by the people they surround themselves with,” Graham told the Post. “My hope and prayer is that President Trump will surround himself with good, strong Christian men and women. We need to unite people in this country.”
