There’s no taking back the zinger Senator Harry Reid fired at the Democratic National Committee and especially its former chairwoman, Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
“I believe one of the failures of Democratic Party has been the Democratic National Committee, the DNC, has been worthless,” the outgoing Senate Minority Leader told Nevada Public Radio in a live call-in interview with the Las Vegas radio station KNPR on Wednesday.

“The DNC has been worthless….I hope they will choose someone who is a full-time person, not like that congresswoman from FL.” —@SenatorReid

“They do nothing to help state parties. That should be the main goal they have. I developed everything in Nevada on my own. Their help was relatively meaningless,” Reid said in a stinging rebuke.

Leaving Congress in January after 34 years, Reid was apparently not done burning bridges as he delivered a scathing piece of advice for the future DNC chair.
“I would hope that they would choose a chair of the Democratic Party who is a full-time person. Not someone like we had with that congresswoman from Florida, who was a full-time congresswoman and a part-time chair of the DNC,” Reid said, notably not calling Wasserman Schultz by name.

The disgraced DNC chair resigned in July after leaked emails showed she and others at the DNC conspired against Hillary Clinton’s Democratic primary opponent, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
“It’s not rocket science. It doesn’t take a lot of brain power to figure out what needs to be done,” Reid said.
Shot fired.
Twitter users had plenty of reaction to the disgruntled senator’s remarks.
