Call it the ‘Trump Bump’ … Market reaches record highs since the election – Is it optimism in America?

Optimism in America that President-elect Donald Trump will stimulate economic growth can be seen in the major U.S. stock indexes, which have hit new record highs since the election.

A performance being described as a “Trump Bump.”

Another sign of that optimism can be seen in a University of Michigan consumer sentiment index, which jumped from 87.2 in October to 93.8 in November:

“That University of Michigan survey also finding Americans are the most hopeful they’ve been in more than a decade,” Fox News’ “Outnumbered” co-host Dagen McDowell said on Friday’s show.

“It’s a Trump rally, like it or not,” she added.

Co-host Lisa Kennedy Montgomery pointed out that a Gallup survey on consumer confidence shows that people are confident across the board.

“It’s not just Republicans,” Kennedy said. “It’s nice to see because it feels like for so many years – since 2008 – we’ve been reporting very glum news this time of year.”
