The left in America is unashamed to praise a murderous dictator like Fidel Castro openly.
No place is this more prevalent than in the mainstream media.
Days after journalists, like Christiane Amanpour, expressed fear that the Trump administration would hinder a free press, many in the media celebrated the life of a man, Castro, who actually did shut down the press.
MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell praised the despot because he “gave his people better health care and education” and said he would “be revered” for “education and social services and medical care to all of his people.”

Jim Avila of ABC had a similar take on “Nightline” on Friday when he said “even Castro’s critics praised his advances in health care and in education.”

He added that Castro “was considered, even to this day, the George Washington of his country among those who remain in Cuba.”
CNN’s Martin Savidge, in a pre-recorded clip, praised Castro when he said “many saw positives, education and health care for all, racial integration.”

Brian Williams, who probably thinks he was there during the revolution, said during his last visit to the island nation that “You see the medicine system they are very proud of.”

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews regaled his about his younger years when he said, like many leftists, Castro was “a romantic figure when he came into power” and admitted, “we rooted like mad for the guy” who “was almost like a folk hero to most of us.”
