‘Unrepentant hypocrite’ Colin Kaepernick exposes himself with T-shirt then praises Fidel Castro

The San Francisco 49ers play the Miami Dolphins this weekend in South Florida and 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick took to praising Cuban dictator Fidel Castro during a press conference.

…in a story that went to print just hours before the murderous communist dictator died.

More from Fox News:

In the article, titled Unrepentant hypocrite Colin Kaepernick defends Fidel Castro, Miami Herald sports columnist Armando Salguero, who fled Cuba as a small child, confronted an ill-informed Kaepernick on his protest against “systematic oppression” of minorities in the United States.

Salguero asked the player about the “absurd contradiction” of protesting oppression while wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with Castro’s likeness at press conference following the first preseason game when Kaepernick first refused to stand for the national anthem.

“I wore a Malcolm X shirt,” Kaepernick replied, before being reminded that Castro was also on the shirt.

The activist/player explained that he is “a believer in Malcolm X and his ideology,” but Salguero refused to let him off the hook, turning the focus back to Castro.

“I’m not talking about Fidel Castro and his oppression,” Kaepernick said. “I’m talking about Malcolm X and what he’s done for people.”

But when pressed, his true feelings about Castro surfaced.

“One thing that Fidel Castro did do is they have the highest literacy rate because they invest more in their education system than they do in their prison system, which we do not do here, even though we’re fully capable of doing that,” Kaepernick said.

The Herald sports writer countered by noting the lack of free elections and justice in Cuba and how Castro breaks families apart — including his own.

“We do break up families here,” Kaepernick responded. “That’s what mass incarceration is. That was the foundation of slavery. So our country has been based on that as well as the genocide of native Americans.”

As one might guess, Salguero had the last word, explaining how stunned he was that “someone so outspoken about his beliefs could be so ignorant to facts.”

“All he did was expose himself as a fraud,” he wrote, before encouraging Kaepernick to wear the shirt on Sunday. “Show everyone what an unrepentant hypocrite you are.”
