Texas Fox anchor celebrates Trump win with personal Facebook post, forced to apologize

Trey Gowdy vs Ted Cruz  for Supreme Court: take our POLL here

Are journalists allowed to have a personal political opinion and share it on their own social media page? Not if you’re a conservative, as one Texas Fox affiliate reporter found out the hard way.

Scarlett Fakhar, a KRIV-TV news anchor, shared a Facebook post last Wednesday supporting president-elect Donald Trump. In it, she expressed how “happy and relieved” she was that Trump won.

“I’ve prayed about this for a long time. And I know many of the God-fearing men and women out there have also,” Fakhar wrote. “I prayed for the best leader that will turn this country that has become more violent and racist under the Obama administration than ever… into the America I once knew.”

“Want to talk about going downhill? Look what Obama has done… how he has made the entire country hate one another. Were you happy with how many people were killing each other in our own country? I work in news… and I hate to say it… but the number of African Americans killing one another far outweighs the number of them being killed by whites. And now you have groups murdering police officers both black and white. How did this happen under the Obama administration? You guys wanted another administration like that?”

SNL’s Hillary Clinton sings ‘Hallelujah’ in an absolutely unexpected ‘cold open’ – and one VERY chilling remark

The 25-year-old, who is the face of both noon and evening news shows for Fox26, issued an apology a day later via Facebook for making “public my personal views on the outcome of the election and other issues.”

Clips of Trump’s first major post-election interview with ’60 Minutes’ already have people buzzing

“It was wholly inappropriate, as a journalist, to do that. Again, my sincere apologies,” the Fox anchor wrote.

The anchor seems to still have her job for now, and a KRIV-TV spokeswoman told Dallas News the station did not have a comment beyond the apology Fakhar had already written on Facebook.

Anyone care to venture a guess as to what would happen to a liberal reporter who expressed support for the Democratic nominee during the campaign or even disappointment about her Tuesday loss? They would probably get a promotion!

While detractors abounded, others expressed support for the Fox anchor on Twitter:

Kellyanne Conway is ‘rubbing it in’ . . . how dare she! You mean like ‘I won. Deal with it’?
