Stephanopoulos asks Donald Trump about having regrets, and immediately has one of his own

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump demonstrated an ability to turn lemons into lemonade recently.

ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos asked Trump if he had any regrets for campaign decisions since he announced his candidacy in June of last year. That’s all the candidate needed.

“Oh absolutely, I would have loved to have done certain things, but you can’t,” Trump answered. “And you would have to.”

“Give me one,” Stephanopoulos asked, clearly asking for one of the candidate’s regrets. But Trump wasn’t playing and turned it around to the newsman.

“You would have loved not to have contributed to the Clinton Foundation,” Trump answered.

And their tweet went viral, prompting lots of replies, including an observation that this wasn’t the true Stephanopoulos regret.

Others applauded Trump’s knack at repartee.
