More details have emerged about the “backroom allegations” Under Secretary Patrick Kennedy tried to convince the FBI to change the classification of an email discovered on Hillary Clinton’s private unsecured server, to include identifying the email at the center of the so-called “quid pro quo” arrangement.
Fox News Catherine Herridge reported that a 2012 email from Clinton about suspects in the Benghazi attack was the email in question, as seen in a video clip posted online by The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes released a statement on Monday calling for the “immediate removal of Under Secretary Patrick Kennedy and an investigation into the misconduct.”
“We find Under Secretary Kennedy’s actions extremely disturbing,” the Republican lawmakers said. “Those who receive classified intelligence should not barter in it – that is reckless behavior with our nation’s secrets.
“Someone who would try to get classification markings doctored should not continue serving in the State Department or retain access to classified information. Therefore, President Obama and Secretary Kerry should immediately remove Under Secretary Kennedy pending a full investigation.”
