When Hillary Clinton looks out into the audience at Wednesday’s presidential debate, she may have a hard time avoiding the eyes of Patricia Smith.
The mother of Benghazi victim Sean Smith was invited to the Las Vegas event by the Donald Trump campaign. Smith told Yahoo News she would accept the GOP nominee’s VIP invitation to the final debate and will be seated in a prominent place.
“I want to look in Hillary’s eyes, and have her lie to me again,”she said.

Smith’s son, a State Department IT consultant, was one of four Americans killed in the 2012 terrorist attacks in Libya. She gave an emotional speech at the Republican National Convention in July, laying the blame for her son’s death on former Secretary of State Clinton.
Smith confirmed to Yahoo News on Monday that she had received the Trump invitation and her plans to accept.
“I think I’m going to be in the front row. But I’m not sure,” she said.
Reaction on social media was mixed as some praised the move and others wondered what difference, at this point, it would make.
