‘Hey ISIS, YOU SUCK’: Unlikley group behind pointed message to Islamic State

A new South Florida billboard is getting lots of attention, but it’s not just because of the colorful message directed at Islamic State militants.

The billboard’s message is unmistakably clear: “Hey ISIS, YOU SUCK!!!

But what is raising just as many eyebrows is the advertisement’s intended target audience, as described by the Coalition of South Florida Muslim Organizations, WPLG Local 10 News reported.

“It’s for Muslims. especially Muslims in South Florida, to tell our neighbors, our friends, our co-workers, that Muslims condemn terrorism in very clear terms,” said Yasir Billoo, a board member of the coalition.

The billboard also quotes a verse from the Quran that says, “Life is scared.”

Erected by Sound Vision, a public relations firm looking to make a distinction between ISIS and Muslims, the billboard is similar to those placed in Chicago, Phoenix and St. Louis, according to Local 10 News.

Mohammad Siddiqi, executive director of Sound Vision, told the local ABC affiliate that the billboard is a “declaration of independence from ISIS.”

“A group of American-Muslim professionals organized like-minded concerned Muslims to raise funds for this campaign,” he said. “These are common folks, and the billboard is their declaration of independence from ISIS.”

Now that’s a message long overdue.
