Wednesday’s “Fox & Friends” included some bold predictions by former Vice President Al Gore and current President Barack Obama — both of which proved to be disastrously wrong.
In the first, global climate soothsayer Gore said there was “a 75 percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap will be totally ice-free within the next five to seven years.”
Instead, during that same period the ice cap has grown by 31 percent, giving Polar Bears lots more room to frolic.
In 2006 Gore also predicted that Manhattan Island, New York, would be flooded in “15 to 20 years,” adding that, “In fact the World Trade Center Memorial site would be underwater.”
We have another five to 10 years on that prediction, but so far, there’s been no run on SCUBA equipment by residents of the Big Apple.

Obama’s prediction was even nuttier, because as president, he had the power to see it fulfilled.
“I am 100 percent committed to the mission of NASA and it’s future,” he said in April of 2010, and pledged to continue the exploration of deep space.
Instead he essentially mothballed the space program and oversaw the halt to the shuttle program.
When American astronauts want to visit the International Space Station, they’re forced to beg for a ride from Russia — and pay through the nose for the privilege.
Then again, instead of a prediction, think of it as a promise — and promises from Democrats don’t amount to all that much these days.
